You can help register Voters. There are only 158 days -- five months
-- to the November elections. And we only have four of those five
months to register voters! Press the Campaigns
button. There aren't many campaigns that have gotten off the ground yet,
but we should have new information available weekly.
If you are a student and your school or college does not yet have a Democratic
Club or YD (Young Democrats) Club, we can put you in touch with Democrats
who can help you get started. Or visit the new California
Young Democrats Web site and get help right away!
If you live in TORRANCE and you'd like to join your local Democratic
Club, please leave an e-mail message. The Democratic Club in Torrance is
trying to rebuild itself at the moment, and is looking for younger people
to take over the running of the Club. The members recently renamed the club
the Torrance-Lomita-Carson Democratic Club (the "T-L-C Democrats")
to try and expand its appeal. The Torrance Democratic Club provided the
main headquarters for the entire South Los Angeles County area in both the
1988 United Democratic Campaign and the 1992 Coordinated Democratic Campaign.
We're going to NEED a Democratic Club in every community as this campaign
heats up -- don't be fooled by recent opinion polls. And Torrance is one
of the most important communities in our area, especially in the upcoming
Jane Harman and Debra Bowen reelection campaigns. So please consider taking
part in the T-L-C Democratic Club.
UPDATE: Sara Ann Thomas, who led the 36th CD delegation for
Jerry Brown to the 1992 Democratic National Convention, has accepted the
nomination to become the TLC Democratic Club's next President. At the May
13th Club meeting, Victor Frank -- curently the Club's President,
and Treasurer, and... -- accepted the nomination to become the new Club
Treasurer, and Celia Heisen accepted the nomination for Club Secretary,
a position she's already been filling in recent months.
The next Torrance-Lomita-Carson Democratic Club meeting will be Monday,
June 10, 1996, at 7:30 PM, in Carrows Restaurant, 20535 Hawthorne Blvd.
in Torrance (3 blocks north of Torrance Ave.). Elections will be held at
that meeting.

Hopefully, there will be information that you weren't aware of. Very likely,
in fact, considering that most of the news that you hear over the mass media
is filtered through Republican fingers. The mass media is owned by fewer
and fewer large corporations, and those corporations are the raison d'être
for the Republican Party...
